Dear Friends and Family,
This year is flying by. Summer is such a perfect season in New
Hampshire and always a time for our family to get together. We are sure Geralynn was
looking down on us all smiling seeing Megan and her cousins gathering at the lake. As
summer became fall, Ger would be turning more of her attention back towards her students
at Inter-Lakes School and the approaching year. We are doing the same for Geralynn’s
fund.
As mentioned in previous yearly updates, we as a family have maintained
constant communication with the faculty of the Inter-Lakes School District to ensure the
support Geralynn’s fund is providing is going to the most impactful area for the most
students. The Naturalist in the Classroom program through Prescott Farm
(www.prescottfarm.org) has provided that resource in the past. As always, the teachers
and students appreciate our support, and we are happy to announce we are once again able
to support the program for the 2022-2023 school year.
With recent increased funding for education within the I-L community, our
support for the program may not be necessary in future years. We are thrilled we can make
up the gap in funding again this year through the Prescott Farm program, however we
continue to look at other areas with the faculty at Ger’s school to identify potential future
funding needs if the Prescott Farm program takes hold in the school budget. We would
like to assure you all that while exploring other opportunities we will always look to carry
Geralynn’s message forward, to inspire young people through education
Once again, we thank you for your continued support of the Geralynn Anne
Fountain Memorial Fund. Not only does it help the students Geralynn was dedicated to,
but it also just importantly helps keep Ger’s spirit and presence alive daily in the Meredith,
New Hampshire community. Please let us know if you have any questions or suggestions
regarding the fund.
Sincerely,
Stephen and Megan Fountain and the O’Brien Family
